Monday night when all I wanted to do was go to the gym and start burning off my weekend indulgences I ended up in a restaurant with hubby and his friends that served only burgers and fries. Oh, and onion rings. Everyone else ordered a burger and fries but I just stuck with the fries.
Tuesday was a birthday lunch with my co workers. I ordered a cup of tomato soup and that was it. It's funny because the birthday boy is this super quiet guy who is basically like a ghost. You could go the whole day at work and never even know he was there. He is nice but super anti social. I swear, I don't even think I heard him speak the entire time we were out to lunch. Tuesday night I did an hour of cardio after work. I wanted to go back Wednesday morning but a debacle with my test for school kept me up until midnight and I was just too tired. Wednesday night I had a hair appointment after work. We had a little holiday party reception thingy at work on Thursday afternoon. The food was sooo good. I got a little bit of everything and then of course no dinner. Thursday night was ballet class. I'm so out of ballet shape it's ridiculous. I was the skinniest one there but the least coordinated. Tombe Pottabure....what? Well it's been awhile but it's got me motivated to get back into shape and find a ballet studio where the class times, location and price work for me so I can get back into it again.
Every single day after work I had something to do and I stayed up later then I should have on most nights. By the time I walked into the door from work on Friday evening I was DONE. I put on my jammies and immediately laid down on the couch. Our tree has been up for 2 weeks and we were supposed to finally decorate it but I was just too worn out. I could hardly keep my eyes open all day and I had a headache which I suspect came from consuming loads of sugar at work all week. I'd come home and feel like my teeth were going to rot right out of my head from cake, cookies and chocolates. It didn't stop me from eating it every day though. Uggggg.....this sugar addiction is the worst. I'd find myself eating one after the other at my desk while I was at work just because they were there. I was sort of sick of it and disgusted with myself but it didn't stop me from reaching for another cookie or grabbing another chocolate from the box. Hubby randomly decided to make cheesy garlic bread and was just putting it in the oven when I got home Friday. On top of the work junk I had that delicious bread. I knew there was no way I'd loose. I figured there was no way in hell I'd be lucky enough to even maintain but I did.
I went to the gym this morning. We are having a couple over for dinner. Of course hubby is in the one in the kitchen right now making it. He's the cook. Maybe we should have people over more often. He actually straightens up and cleans up every single thing after himself in the kitchen. It would be nice to see that all the time. He drives me crazy sometimes but he is so amazingly awesome. He keeps me going. Weight loss is really not happening right now which sucks. I'm not happy about this but I just haven't been able to do any better right now. Whatever.
It's that time of years when days of excess too easily merge into each other and before you know it a week has passed. Don't punish yourself for it, easier said than done I know, but we have to learn to bear the keeping up social appearances!
ReplyDeletep.s. I have just started playing around on nutritiondata.com and want to thank you for the link on your page - is this where you do all your workings out of nutition from? Love it!
love xx
I feel your pain...I'm struggling at the moment too. When holidays come around, all people want to do is spend time together, with good food of course. I'm trying to stay sane by compromising one way or another...exercise to make up for excess food or restricting on weekdays to make up for the weekends. It's pretty difficult, but the craziness will slow down eventually.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the last couple of weeks of this year and you can get back on track after. And I ttly get what you mean about hubby driving you crazy.. They sure are good at it - but I wouldn't be without him...

You do ballet? How did I miss that before?! That's awesome :) This time of year it's so easy to feel overworked. Some archbishop or something here in the UK went on TV recently urging people to "have a messy Christmas" and give themselves a break if everything's not perfect. Well sure, but it's easier said than done..! I hope this week is more relaxing for you xx
ReplyDeleteAre you counting down the days until Christmas is over too? I know it's for the wrong reasons, but SERIOUSLY. Why do all gatherings/holidays/celebrations = food? If I ruled the world...
