3 Day Weekend Hallelujah

Tools of the trade...Hopefully they will help
Since I'm sure everyone is dying to know the ins and outs of my bowel movements without further ado I will tell you that I finally pooped on Wednesday night.  It was such a huge relief.  Literally.  Thank you all for your wonderful tips and tricks regarding constipation.  Apples are my favorite fruit and when I eat those or grapes or anything else for that matter I don't notice any increase in BM action.  I am definitely challenged in this area.  I drink coffee every day I go to work and while this is often a laxative for some it does nothing for me.  The only food that has ever worked for me is Fiber 1 Original cereal so I am definitely sticking with that.  I eat my Double Fiber Orowheat toast every morning at work.  I also eat Apples and other Fiber 1 snacks to supplement.  I seriously need to work on my fear of water because it makes sense that if my fiber content is good then the only thing missing is water to move it along.  Last night I did go out and buy Nature's Secret Super Cleanse at GNC suggested by Kitty.  I also bought Mega T Green Tea water pills while I was at it to hopefully help with bloating and water retention that tend to happen to me as well.  They both have calcium in it.  I will take a moment to appreciate the fact that I needed something and had money to go out and buy it and didn't have to stress out or have an anxiety attack about it.  I took a Super Cleanse pill this morning and I'll see if that helps.  Hoping I'll go today.  I don't want to rely on pills.   The super cleanse is supposed to be natural and colon cleansing but still, I'm planning to only use them when I really feel like I could use some extra help. I will probably never go a couple times a day or even every single day but I'd like to at least go every other day on the regular.  I was kind of on a normal every other day to every two days schedule until I did the laxative thing and it set me back 7 days!!  I'll think about it a little harder the next time I want to do that.

Yesterday hubby e mailed me that they were going to happy hour after work and did I want to go.  Uh....no.  I don't really have the luxury of being able to eat much right now and if he was gone for dinner that meant I didn't have to eat so I told him I was way tired (true), I wanted to pick up my pills (true), and that I was just too excited about getting to go home after work for the first time all week (true).  It's sweet that he invited me but I got my pills, went home and ate 1 cup of pretzels and string cheese for dinner.  I indulged on some sweets at work so that was all I could manage and I finished the day at 924 cals.  I'm so tired today (what else is new?) and so incredibly glad that it's a 3 day weekend.  Oh, how I need this.  I just gotta get through this loooong work day.  Tonight we are getting our garage shelving.  Tomorrow I'll wake up, clean and then we are going to the rents house.  Sunday and Monday I plan to do gym, homework and rest.  My poor sister.  Her husband works a lot and is finally off for the entire weekend and she isn't even excited.  Why?  Because her husband is a bit of a dud and they absolutely are not compatible and should have never gotten married much less had a baby together.  I'm over hating him because after all she is the one who picked him so now I text things like, "Oh cool, aren't you excited that A is going to be home?  Maybe you all can get out and do something fun...at least you won't be home alone all weekend."  Her response, "We'll see."

Tonight for dinner is grilled chicken breast that we will make into sandwiches.  Tomorrow I think we are going out to dinner with the rents.  Sunday, Monday...I don't know what's going on but as usual I'll be trying to eat as little as possible.  I'm 113 today.  112 is feeling more and more doable again.

Incidentally, this is my 400th post!!  Wowsa.  Have a great weekend everyone!!

  1. Hey - glad you finally got everything straightened out : ) Thanks for the PSA on laxatives. You scared me out of taking them! I had no idea they could have side effects like that.

    Enjoy the three day weekend!

  7. Thanks for the comment! And that's good news! I feel like the people here are not really turned off by TMI on bodily functions, it's important stuff after all haha! But yes, you definitely need to up the water intake! You can get constipated by not balancing the fiber/water intake. I like to drink tea to stay hydrated, maybe that's a better option for you?
