I suggested making the pancakes because he said he wanted breakfast. Then, right after I agreed to make 'em I was already calculating how many calories that was going to take up so early in the day and kind of dreading that I opened my big mouth. The house still sort of smells like pancakes and syrup. Darn, I followed the directions but it didn't make very much. There isn't enough batter for me. If I'd really wanted to I could have just made some more but I didn't. I added the boxed recipe to my app and the calorie count was not looking good. If I ate them I wanted a nice full serving. I didn't want just one baby pancake. So, I didn't have any at all. I made hubby his 3 crispy edged pancakes and just told him I wanted a bite. That bite was so good. I even added cinnamon to give it a little bit of extra flavor and he loved them. After he ate I cleaned up the kitchen then sat down and ate my 1/2 cup Fiber 1 for breakfast. My mind already jumping ahead and thinking that now I'd have enough calories to eat the 2nd half of my Subway from the night before after all. I'm glad that I avoided the calories but a little bummed that I missed out on eating a delicious breakfast with my husband.
Yesterday hubby hurt is shoulder biking. He fell off of his bike and separated it. At the doctor they said it could heal on it's own or it could need surgery. He can't really blame his shoulder for not putting his stuff away since he's never been good at doing it anyways. Now I suppose it might be insensitive for me to complain about it so much. I still can't figure out why it's so difficult to put your crap away. He's definitely milking it though. He asks me to get him stuff when his legs are working just fine. I'm such a softy. I love him and he's such a sweetheart that I do it anyways. I like to make him happy.
We just did a few errands today. We were going to stop by Pier 1 and Costplus but I was freezing of course and just wanted to get home. Plus, even though I had coupons I'm not really at the point where I can be spending money. We bought 4 bottles of wine at the buy one get one for 5 cents bevmo wine sale and spent $26 which seems a lot for wine. I also got some fresh mozzarella balls and reduced fat cheese puffs. I am such a cheese whore! I did not however buy candy and that alone is a victory considering that yesterday I bought a box of Mike and Ike's and between the two of us we ate the whole thing!! I definitely have a sweet tooth. Lately, I want something sweet every night. I do a so so job of controlling it though. It can be two cookies or 1/2 cup light ice cream. I just want something. Now the candy. I'm so over it. It totally ruins my calorie count and I rarely can stick to one serving.
Good job on resisting the temptation. I don't know if I could have done it; I have a soft spot for breakfast foods. I hope your husband's injury heals up soon. <3
ReplyDeleteTotally with you - zero bites is so much better than two bites, which will just make you want 20 bites. SUCKS when you have to cook/bake/smell the stuff though.
ReplyDeleteIt's all about give and take isn't it - do you have the pancakes or hold of for 'something better'? I have the same internal dialogue every day x
