I've been so busy! Monday work, gym, 950 consumed, 620 Calories burned. Tuesday work, gym, 690 consumed, 600 calories burned. I didn't get home until after 7 pm both days and I pushed it so hard at the gym so I was exhausted. Wednesday work, hair appointment, friends party at a restaurant, 1660 consumed, 0 calories burned. Between the flat bread pizza, the bread, the bubbly and the cake I think that's about how much. Calorie calculating is such an inexact science but that's my best guesstimating. It's the most I've eaten in a looooong time!! The scale didn't go up or down so I am very thankful to be sitting here at 113.4. I didn't get home until 10:30 pm but I slept so good. It must have been all the bubbly champagne.
It was my friend Mol's B Day. I haven't seen her since my wedding so even though Wednesday is so not a party day and it made for a super long day for me I had to go. We met at this cute little restaurant that does all fresh and organically grown foods. There were 7 of us. Her and her friends are all in their little self employed fantasy world where they work from home, network, and just live life. I'll admit it. I'm jealous. But, I'm happy for her. She makes really expensive hand made jewelry out of her home. I don't know how much income she actually generates but her husband makes enough money that it doesn't really matter and she can just work on her passion. Must be nice. I remember when I first met her and this other girl Sar at a model gig 3 years ago. I couldn't really be friends with them. Neither one of them faced the day to day 8-5 grind that I did AND I was single at the time while they were happily coupled up with men who brought home the bacon so they didn't have to. I just couldn't relate. I was struggling financially and alone. They got to jet off to little modeling gigs and work out in the middle of the day while I had to lie to my job to get to auditions. Once hubby and I got engaged and I got a little happier Mol and I did re connect and started hanging out. I haven't seen her since July at my wedding which is sort of ridiculous but oh well. She didn't call me either, but I'm really glad she invited me out and we got to catch up.I love my hubby, my house and my life now. I never thought I would see the day when I would actually say that and mean it! Even so, I still envy her life a little bit. The sacrifice is that her husband is gone a lot for work and has missed the past five B Day's in a row. He makes good money so she gets to focus on building her little business. She has freedom in life that I will never know. She's like in some little la dee da fantasy world on her own time and working on something for herself without being a slave to some office. I am happier with my life now so that green monster doesn't burn me up inside anymore like it would have in the past.
She has sort of an ED issue herself. She is or should I say was built like how I used to be. She was a volleyball player so she was solid and muscular and she has old pics of herself in a much bigger body just like I do. Her obsession is health foods and tiny portions. She is the only one in my real life who can even relate to how my mind works. She says she got under 110 and passed out in August and decided to put on weight since then. I couldn't really see the 10 lb gain and she still looks thin. She says she has more energy. She is probably still around 118 lbs or so. We are exactly the same height.
We have the extra scale in the main bathroom now. It wasn't even my idea to switch. Hubby just decided to do it on Monday night. Hubby's scale went into the extra bathroom and mine went into our master bath when we moved. I have sort of a sentimental attachment to mine even though it doesn't seem to be that accurate. It only goes to .5 and usually weighs higher. Sometimes it matches Hubby's scale within a tenth or what it would be if you rounded up and other times it's a whole pound off.
Tuesday hubby had a game and so I grabbed a piece of that left over dynamite cake from work, took it home and had cake and ice cream for dinner. I stayed under 700 calories so I somehow justified it even though it didn't feel quite right after working out so hard at the gym. I find that sometimes I just need to do things like that to get it out of my system. I am such a food whore!! I snuck another big slice (my 3rd!!) to take home yesterday and I will share this one with hubby. The cake is out for the taking but I am embarrassed to be be seen parading down the hallway with a hunk of cake AND it might be seen as odd that I'm taking it home so do it on the down low. I am such a food whore! I had my little cake obsession and my pig out session on Super bowl Sunday and last night. I've been indulgent but because I was at 112.5 I am still in my comfort zone weight wise. I know all too well how those mistakes can spiral out of control so I need to get back on track. I don't want to push my luck. Time to get my head back in the game and jump back on the restriction train and ride it to 112. There is meeting lunch food so I just had Fiber 1 dry and Coffee for breakfast and I have already told hubby that I will not be wanting dinner.
I could see why you'd envy her lifestyle a little bit. I wish I could do something like that in my adult years...the freedom to really live.
ReplyDeleteYou are doing amazing. So proud of you :]
It's always tricky to compare ourselves to other people. I hate it...especially if they seem more "financially successful." Then I think about how everyone has some sort of skeleton in the closet and I immediately feel better. :)
ReplyDeleteYou a food whore?....hmm, a VERY DISCIPLINED RESTRICTING AND CONTROLLED food whore...:)
You're doing fantastic!! :D
Hope you'll get some down time for yourself soon. :D
haha you're not a food whore! I don't think any of us on here really are. It'd be easy to be envious of your friend's lifestyle, but I'm glad that you're not and and are content and happy with the wonderful life you have. Do you take your camera with you everywhere you go to get the photos of your food? or is it on your phone? <3RaeLynn
