So, I am happy with how I did yesterday. I stuck to the plan. The candy....not exactly part of the plan but it wasn't that much so whatever. It kept my mouth occupied, gave me a treat and I stayed under 1K calories. I just really have to watch eating out of a box-the much loved Mike N Ikes-because I go way overboard then. Like everything else I got very over relaxed on candy too. I was soooo tired at work that I could barely keep my eyes open. It was awful. I came home crampy (Aunt Flo comes this week) and tired. The LAST thing I wanted to do was an exercise video but I forced myself to do it anyways. Just like I said I would. My week is so busy that it might be the only other day I will be doing it until maybe Fri or Sat if that. So at least I got it in 2X this week which is my goal for now. Let's not get too crazy here. I managed to drop 1/2 pound which is progress.
After my video I got to relax and eat my snack dinner and drink water. I knew I had to get to bed early because today is long which SUCKS so I was in bed by 9 pm. I get really angry when my routine has to change especially for something stupid. I agreed to work a promo job on Thursday night which makes that a long day but I need the money and when it comes down to it I do like doing it. I think I am getting a bit old for the bar and alcohol promos but not too many of them come through the agency anyway and those are the ones I do. I don't really seek it out so much like I used to on my own. I am usually one of the older girls hired but nobody ever notices because I look really young. I don't consider it real modeling but it pays pretty well. I can't think of a better part time job to do and they only come up occasionally so that I would never feel overloaded. If I get booked for something and I can work it into my schedule. I do it. They are having us do a stupid training today for 45 minutes at 7:30pm. I get off at 5:00pm and live east so I don't really have time to go home. Which means for about 2 hours I'm just bumping around when I'd much rather be at home. Resting. I am not like some of those young girls-I have a real 40 hour a week job. The thing that irritates me is that the jobs we do are not that hard to require a training. Really! Promo models are paid to look good and promote a product or event. Easy stuff. The thing that's rough about this week is that tonight I won't get home until around 8:30-9pm. Tomorrow I have a hair appointment so I won't get home until close to 8pm then Thursday is the promo job from 4:30-10:30!! There are times where I am thinking....oh god why did I agree to do it but then I think of the money and how I actually need it and if I turn down jobs as broke as I am then I am just being lazy.
I value my home time resting so much! Maybe too much. Weekends and after work at home are precious to me. I realize that I do need to be flexible and break out of that rigid need for routine and to just go straight home every single day like my life depends on it. Hanging with friends through the week and doing these little jobs is a good thing sometimes. So, I am trying not to be so angry about having to do this training because I have to do it anyways and being angry won't change a thing. They are paying us $1 a minute. $45 for 45 minutes. Then, the event pays $180 for 6 hours which is about $30 bucks an hour. More then I make at work. I make $180 because the agency takes a 20% cut. It will be nice to get that check in the mail which probably won't be for months but still.
This month I had to reduce my spending by about $350 for the month which was hard because I went over budget last month buying stuff for the house. I spent my whole monthly budget in the 1st weekend of June so I was broke all that month then had to cut my budget in July. So, I am pretty much tired of being broke right now. I am going to be about $150 over budget for this month and then I plan on only buying some kitchen curtains, a rug, and a little side table for the house next month. That's it. I would like to actually feel that I have some spending money for a change in August. I use a credit card for my misc expenses to get points but I know exactly how much my limit is and try not to exceed it. If I do and can't pay the balance in full for any reason then I make myself cut my budget for the next month by that amount so I am never spending more then my means.
When you don't make a lot of money you have to be disciplined. That's the way I've always been. It's been the same with food too although I obviously have gotten a bit lax over the last 8 months or so since hubby has been back home. Gotta stay on track.
By The Numbers: If you read this I just wanted to let you know that I try to comment but can't because there is something wrong with the word verification. The little box is not there so I can never type in the word and get a comment published. I wonder if anyone else has that prob...or if it's just me?
ReplyDeleteYa I'm happy with the inches. it was a great thing to see! we can't really afford our honeymoon either with the house and everything that we decided to forgo a bed and mattress when we move in at the end of september for our flights! lol I have a twin mattress that i used in uni on a day bed and we actually share a twin right now because our room is so small! so it wont be bad for a few weeks. but we haven't had a vacation in over a year so it was out of the question to forgo the trip.
ReplyDeleteI do hope you and your hubby take your honeymoon later! maybe in the winter/spring and really enjoy somewhere hot!
I totally understand your comment about loving your free time at home. It's like fucking gold to me! haha.
ReplyDeleteI'm such a homebody.
Hmm... since I've never commented on my own blog I didn't know there was problem. I'll see if there's something I can do. Or I turn it off, and see if I don't get too much spam.
ReplyDeleteAnd... can I say that I am so jealous that you have a budget and stick to it. It is one of my long term goals. I actually just ordered the book "Power to Prosper" before reading your post.. weird coincidence.
I know, doing different jobs at the same time, this really sucks. But it´s the same with social event: At one point, you always have to decide whether to go home and hang around and chill or to get out, meet friends, talk to them on the phone, write emails and so on. I decided for the first option too many times, and now I am feeling bed because there are no real friends left... And all this is related to the fact that I am working 60+ hours a week...
ReplyDeleteDon´t hang around, girl, get out, do two jobs at the same time, meet with friends, and in the end you will be proud of yourself....
And take good care...
