But, I will not get too upset because I was good yesterday and its way better then 118! I guess I will just have to be patient and consistent. Yesterday's food: 1270 calories
- PBJ (235), Coffee (50), 1 Girl Scout cookie (75)
- Reduced Fat Cheese Its (150)
- Yoplait Yogurt (80)
- Granola Bar (90)
- Grilled Chicken Salad w/croutons, FF Ranch, Bacon Bits (350), Dinner Roll (80)
- String Cheese (80), Apple (80)
OK. It dawns on me that I eat too much. It doesn't SEEM like that much food but 1270!!! I stopped counting calories this year after years and years of doing it because #1 I got tired of it. It's a pain in the butt looking up calories and writing every single little thing down day in and day out. #2 I began to feel that my eating habits and weight were under control. I decided to let myself eat-but healthy. Still under what is usually recommended and what most people eat but not way way below like I used to. I didn't want to fall back into that trap again of starving, having my metabolism stall out and then literally being forced to starve all the time just to maintain. Forget about trying to loose at that point. The screwed up metabolism causes me to hold onto EVERYTHING. Eat a bite of pizza gain three pounds and still go to bed hungry. Miserable.
I could try to throw exercises in the mix but I never fully transitioned to getting off at 5pm instead of 3:30pm making going to the gym after work all but impossible and am just not sure I can do it. Exercise at home will be a possibility once we move and I actually have space in my home to do so and a good neighborhood in which I can walk. This also sounds incredibly LAZY but I don't want to HAVE to kick butt in the gym 5 days a week to maintain either. I don't want to be a slave to exercise although I do know that at some point I need to do it just to stay healthy and get my flexibility back.
I have started eating more since hubby is home. With him around reducing to less then about 1100-1200 cals a day is hard. On my own I can eat a can of soup, a sandwich, or a 200 cal frozen meal every single day easy. I get into this restriction rhythm and it's usually not too hard to keep it going. I get used to that beast of hunger in my belly, the scale stays down, and the momentum gives me willpower even when I am dining out. I can't see cutting out my work snacks. They aren't much to begin with and keep me going through the day. The only other option is to reduce my portion sizes at dinner to microscopic. I need to get real strict on every single thing I put into my mouth when I go home and of course have some freakin' will power for a change when I go out.
Tonight should be good. I told hubby I was having a sandwich for dinner. I will eat that and at most a string cheese and apple for snack in addition to my work snacks. I will hope for 116's tomorrow.
Restricting is really much more easier as a sigle. In my life, the BF buys all the bad food and I have to fight every night not to eat it.
ReplyDeleteRight now, I try to work out as much as possible, but I can truly understand that maintaining of losing without going to the gym on a daily basis would be much more convenient.
Don´t worry, though, even with 1200 you are not gaining since you are tall and not lying on the couch all day long.
You can do it!!!!
