I really do wish I could drink coffe black but I can't stand the flavor. Today I actually measured out my servings of cream and sugar and found out I am over calculating. I use 5 Splenda's and about 1 tbsp of powder creamer and 1 tbsp of liquid creamer. The powder creamer is only 10 cals and the liquid is 30. Coffee is what...10 calories black? So, that is actually about 50 calories. Yeah, 10 would be better but I wouldn't be able to drink it.
I started drinking coffee years ago because it was to be my substitute for food in the morning. It would keep my belly full, keep me warm, and keep calories low. I started eating PBJ's for breakfast only about a year ago. It was my childhood favorite sandwich but I used to avoid peanut butter like the plague for years and years. I can't really remember why I started eating them again.
I think it was my way of trying to eat a good fat. My calorie intake was so low and I realized that I ate very little foods with actual nutritional value. I started getting worried about getting older not getting enough nutrients. So I started to make an effort to eat fruits, vegetables, and yogurt and string cheese for calcium. Peanut butter is a good source of protein and fat not to mention that I love it so somehow that became part of my breakfast routine in addition to the coffee. Since then, I have upped my calories some but now I don't want to give up my pbj.
Glad to have gone down half a pound today. I did good yesterday. Another sandwich for dinner. Hubby took some meat out of the fridge this morning so I know he is planning something for dinner tonight. We'll just have to see how this weekend goes. Hopefully I don't sabotoge my progress by being a pig.
Don´t worry, you are doing great!
ReplyDeleteMeat is a good source of protein and if you chose wisely it has not much fat in it....
Hope my weekend will be restrictional, too.
Wish you all the best.
i wish i could drink coffee black too! i use 2 "Mini Moos" (20 cal) and 1 packet sweetener. Coffee? around 10? 30 cal, i think. Wish i could have those flavored creamers...yum! Flavored coffee?
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend...mine starts with therapy....blerg....and it's raining...not a good omen.
I used to eat PBJ everyday for breakfast too. It was nutritious and portable - I'd eat mine in the car on the way to work or school. I've switched over to almond butter when I do eat one - but I haven't in a long time. I eat just regular nuts to avoid the added oil and sugar in PB.
ReplyDeleteAlso, if you can find it I LOVE fat free flavored coffee creamer - they probably have it in plain too if you prefer. One tbsp is 25 calories but 0 fat. The flavoring means less splenda too.
