So Disgusted

I'm so disgusted with myself it's not even funny.  I feel like I want to jump out of my skin.  I have this anxious uneasy feeling in my stomach in addition to all the crap that's built up in me considering I need a BM and of course can't go.  This is totally ridiculous considering I am a carb whore but I'm starting a low carb diet.  For the next 3 days starting tomorrow I am determined to keep the carbs under 50.  I just need SOMETHING ANYTHING to break me out of this horrible slump that I've gotten myself back into.  It's something I've never tried and my husband is doing it right now so I'm going to jump on the bandwagon and give it a whirl.  Everything else has failed me so if this does too it seriously won't be that big of a deal.  It can't get any worse.  I probably shouldn't say that because it just did considering I'm at an all time high since a long time of 117.5.  Hanging head in absolute horror and shame.  I have been so up and down over the last month even that it's crazy.

Turns out there is never a good time to meet my sweet husband for lunch.  I did lie to get out of last week but felt bad enough that I committed myself to going this week no matter what.  Being super fat was no excuse so I had to suck it up and go.  I had a Cobb Salad and a Bran Muffin.  The cals were about 800 or so which is disgusting for one meal but that seems to be what happens when I go out to eat even when I'm being "good."  That damn muffin had 9 grams of fiber so on top of my 1/2 cup Fiber one this morning I'm hoping to get that dump.  I did an exercise video on Sunday, gym yesterday and I'm going to the gym again today.  I know low carb is not a long term solution but I need something to shake my body up.  I just want to make it through three days of low carb.  I can't worry about anything beyond that because my best laid plans lead to nothing but failure lately.  There is a Birthday dinner on April 21st.  Another dreaded dinner outing where I typically lose any progress I manage to make.  Sigh.

God I wish my calorie tracking app had the ability to let me plan just even one single day ahead.  It's so annoying that when I feel so anxious and antsy and ready to implement my diet plan that I have to wait until tomorrow to enter it and start tallying it up.  Don't the stupid people who make these apps realize that sometimes planning ahead and not just tracking after the fact can be beneficial too?  Options are limited so I'm going to come up with the same thing and eat it every day for the next 3 days just so it's easy and I know the carb count is under 50.  So far my list is:  hard boiled egg, egg whites or egg beaters, lunch meat, chicken breast, lettuce, broccoli, cheese, peanut butter, almonds, coffee and water.  If I have enough carbs left at the end of the day I'll have an apple, yogurt, reduced fat Townhouse crackers that have 2 carbs per cracker or anything else I want that I can fit under my carb limit.  Which probably won't be much.  I'll probably skip the gym tomorrow but I will try to work out on Thursday or Friday to get one work out in while I'm low carbing.  If I actually do manage to stick to under 50 for at least three days that's supposed to throw the body into ketosis where there are no carbs to burn for energy so my body starts to burn fat instead.

  2. I'm so sorry about your slump lately. Totally not fair at all! I hear ya on the meal outtings ruining any progress made. I think I've been falling into that same trap the last couple of weeks. I will be curious to see how the low carb plan works for you. I am crossing my fingers that it helps you break out of the slump, hun! Keep us posted!

  3. Wow, that is low carb! I don't think I could manage it, I had 159 carbs today and I thought that was pretty low! If it works for you I might have to cut back, too.

Good luck! You can totally pull it off!

  4. What app do you use to track cals? I only ask because I use myfitnesspal and it lets you input foods/workouts for days in advance so you can get an idea of how your day will go if you see what I mean. I do it, then totally don't eat what I've planned and mess up lol, but the intention is there!

I'm feeling you with the higher weight babe, honestly. How has it got to the point where we're both, what 4/5lbs higher than our low weights and that tiny amount makes us feel like crap?! Messed up eh? :)

Still, I think it's totally to do with this time of year - I hate wet cold Spring before it's properly nice in May. We'll get outside more, eat more fresh stuff - it'll be great I promise.

For now, I honestly recommend a ton of water (TRYYYY!!) and some prunes or apricots - they are low cal, healthy and definitely get things moving xxxxx

  6. i would totally stink at the low carb thing so i'm cheering for you and hope you see results quickly in hopes to get you out of your slump. i agree w/isobel, it must be the time of year or something.

eating out is always the worst for me. like even if i have a salad i swear they are more fattening when you don't know what they put in it. even when you get the dressing on the side. i just don't trust any food when i eat out. i've convinced my husband that we need to watch our spending so we have cut down on eating out quite a bit but not completely. we have more money in the bank but i don't see any less of a number on the scale...haha...jokes on me :)

you can do this, i know you can!

  8. you seem kinda normal so I dont know if this is too "out there" but I just today for the first time made nori cones. Google nori cones, you'll find what I'm talkin about. I made them with fish and napa cabbage and radish sprouts. ONE carb per sheet and you make 2 cones per sheet. I was so starved when I ate it so I'm sure anything would have tasted good. But they're REALLY good :-)

    and yes, drink WATER!!

  9. low carb works wonders! Gl on it..

Myfitnesspal.com lets you plan ahead :) The numbers don't "count" until you actually click on completing the day at the actual day. so maybe that is something to look into?
