Crack of Dawn Work Out

The morning workout yesterday was really, really hard but not as awful as I always thought it would be.  We got there around 5:30am and I did the Elliptical for an hour.  He basically does his own thing and I do mine at the gym so we are there together but not technically working out together.  I rewarded myself by picking up a Reduced Fat Turkey Bacon Egg White sandwich from Starbucks on the way to work.  I felt a sense of accomplishment for having already burned 500 calories before 8am.  My eyes were feeling glazed over and burning for most of the day.  The endorphin rush and burst of energy that people talk about getting from early morning work outs never came.  I was just tired.  More tired then usual even but at least I got a work out in.  I don't know if I'll ever do it again.  I could try to go to bed earlier but it takes me a while to fall asleep so I don't know if that will work.  Getting up so early meant I was more tired then usual at the end of the day but the trade off would be that I could go straight home after work.  Except not yesterday because I had my final.  It was 50 questions of True/False Multiple choice which can still be very hard if you don't know your stuff.  I think I did pretty good.  I'm mad at myself for not taking advantage of the 5% extra credit.  We just had to talk about two law related articles found on the Internet.  We didn't even have to get up from our desk to do it but I hate speaking in front of large groups of people so I chickened out.  If I end up 5% away from an A or B that will really suck.  I'm hoping for at least a B in the class.  The next session of the class starts up again next week.  Same time, same place but this time it's 2 units, partially online and will go through December.  I was dead tired by the time I got home last night.  We watched Teen Mom, I ate some pretzels and string cheese then it was off to bed.

Today I am still tired (what else is new) but not as tired as yesterday.  That's something I guess.  I have another long day since I have a hair appointment right after work.  Then, tomorrow is what I call a dining out challenge.  Hubby's friends are going to dinner.  I'm already mentally preparing myself for success and strategically planning my meal.  It's a special menu night with appetizer, entree and dessert.  I'll need to limit the bread consumption.  I love their bread-well all bread really so that will be tough.  I'm thinking that I'll get a salad for appetizer.  Get the steak with veggies or rice for my entree and maybe just eat a little bit of the rice only or none of the entree at all so I can eat dessert.  We'll see.  I guess the stars were in alignment or something because I had a BM two days in a row (Monday and Tuesday with no assistance).  I am back down to 113 so thankfully the 114 didn't stick for too long.  My throat feels dry so I know I need water.  I ordered a heart rate monitor finally!  Hubby said he'd buy one for me when I was flat broke and desperately wanted one but he never did and now that I quit paying on the condo I can get it myself.  I got the heart rate pro for only $35.00 from Mio Global Products.  They have a 50% off promo code and don't charge shipping.  I think it goes until October 5th if anyone is interested.  I just got caught up on my work for the day so it's gonna be a long, tiring, boring rest of the day at work.  Tired seems to be my new favorite word lately.  It's better then Fat.

  1. Yikes. 5:30 a.m. is when you got to the gym?!? That means you had to wake up around 5a. Good for you that you tried it out! I used to wake up around 4:45a-5:00a everyday... it can be pretty tiring if you don't get to bed early. I'm still debating on whether or not to start an early work out regime...

  2. Glad you stuck to working out with the hubby but sorry you were so extra tired. :( Your plan for the meal sounds great, I myself wanna scream bloody murder because I have zero resistance to bread....god damn Italian genes. Stick with what you have in mind and you'll do great!!

  3. Hello, you may have addressed this BM correlation in the past; but I have wondered if you considered the string cheese (so binding!) as the main culprit for your issues in that area??

  4. I'm lucky in the AM workout department as all I have to do is put on shoes, stumble downstairs and hit play. Much easier than getting to the gym. I am impressed.

That's deal on your HRM! I think you'll like it, I was bummed when the batter in mine died. I'm happy to have it back.

  5. I never feel anything but relieved and tired after a workout. Congrats on the HRM; I kind of want one, but not enough to arouse suspicion by pulling the damn thing out and using it when I feel like mine's not working right.

  6. I ditto the tired being the new fav word... *yawn* hehe..

I was actually talking to hubby about getting a HRM- I have started to become really paranoid over the "calories burned " numbers I see.. Specially when I am doing something like WiiFit- or with the run, which I am going to do more of.

That is a great deal you on it.. I hope I finding something proper here as well.

    Enjoy the dinner out :)
