What's Eating You?

I've been ok with my weight lately.  Loosing 1lb overnight certainly helps but mainly it's because I'm within my comfort zone AND because it makes sense for the most part.  I ate too much on Saturday I gained.  I've eaten more reasonably the last few days and I've lost.  Food and liquids go in and then they come out.  That is all I'm asking for.  Just for my body to respond in a way that makes sense.  I was going MAD when my body was freaking the hell out on me the last couple of months.  It was AWFUL!  I'd starve and gain, I'd eat and gain and exercise barely put a dent in the problem.  Nothing made sense.  I felt absolutely out of control and I HATED it.  I hate it that it might happen again and there might be nothing I can do about it.  I'll just have to be glad for now that it's going well.  I'm on my period and off the pill this week and often experience less retention and more regularity.  When my body was freaking out on me I couldn't even get a break while I was on my period.  I'm not sure if the Yaz is making a difference or not.  It's been one full month.  I will go on my honeymoon and eat but try to be active and make some decent choices.  I will gain but hopefully not too much.

Hubby has been trying to loose weight himself so there has been less of an emphasis on dinner and it's been great.  Without trying he usually is about 198 or so.  Right now he's stuck at around 194 but he would like to be 188 so that he is a few under 190.  He weighs himself before and after a dump like me sometimes.  His weight matters to him.  He's still a guy so for the most part he eats and can burn it off fairly easily but he isn't a skinny guy who can eat whatever and not gain a thing.  His dad has a big beer gut and is a bit on the overweight side so it's always been ingrained in his head that he doesn't want to be like that.  He isn't built with a whole lot of visible muscle but he is toned and solid.  He has a juicy butt and I just love him how he is.  We both know that each other will never be fat 'cause we won't let it happen.

Set your DVR's ladies!  There is a new show starting on E! called What's Eating You that I think we will all be very interested in watching.  True stories of food, fear and obsession.  It starts tonight and will be on Wednesday nights.  Luckily I happened to catch a preview of this while I was watching Teen Mom.  I've got my DVR set and I can't wait to watch.  Some people say that movies, shows or documentaries about ED's are bad because they trigger others and might cause more harm then good.  There is this whole bizarre triggering thing that goes on with eating disorders that doesn't seem to be an issue with other disorders.  The only thing similar that I can think of that comes close is maybe alcoholism.  When you are around other people drinking you want one to.  But it's still different.  This whole thing about not using numbers and not discussing particular behaviors so as not to "trigger" others.  I totally get it.  I have been triggered and have sought out things to induce it but I just find it strange.  I can't quite put my finger on why that is and why it seems to be unique to ED's.

  1. I watched "Freaky Eaters" on TLC the other night. It was a major help. Something about seeing a guy addicted to pizza and a girl addicted to cola that just made not binging much easier.
